Saudi Arabia Honors Army Chief Asim Munir With King Abdulaziz Medal

Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman on Sunday awarded the King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellent Class to Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, in recognition of his role in strengthening bilateral defense ties between the two brotherly nations.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the prestigious honor was conferred by order of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, acknowledging General Munir’s “distinguished efforts to strengthen the strategic relationship and cooperation between the two nations.”

General Asim Munir received the medal during an official meeting with Prince Khalid bin Salman in Riyadh, highlighting the depth of longstanding military and strategic cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed historic Saudi-Pakistani relations, ongoing defense collaboration, and joint efforts aimed at supporting regional and international peace and security, SPA reported.

The engagement reflects the continued convergence of strategic interests between Islamabad and Riyadh, particularly in defense coordination, military training, and broader security cooperation across the region.
