Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, attended Christmas celebrations at Christ Church in Rawalpindi, joining members of the Christian community in marking the festive occasion. He conveyed warm Christmas greetings and extended his best wishes for peace, harmony, and prosperity to the community.
While addressing the gathering, the Field Marshal paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and underscored the Founder’s vision of equality, freedom, and religious tolerance. He emphasized that safeguarding the rights of minorities remains a fundamental pillar of Pakistan’s national ideology.
During his interaction with the congregation, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir acknowledged the longstanding and valuable contributions of Pakistani Christians to the country’s progress and security. He highlighted their distinguished service in the Pakistan Armed Forces over successive generations and stressed the importance of interfaith harmony, mutual respect, and national unity. He noted that Pakistan’s true strength lies in its diversity, equal opportunities, and shared constitutional values that transcend religion, ethnicity, caste, and creed.
