Commissioning Parade Marks Graduation of 124th Midshipmen at PNA

The Commissioning Parade for the 124th Midshipmen and the 32nd Short Service Commission Course took place at the Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi, celebrating the graduation of 90 Midshipmen and 34 SSC cadets.

Commander of the Royal Bahrain Naval Force, Rear Admiral Ahmed Mohamed Ebrahim Al Bin Ali, attended the event as the Chief Guest and was received on arrival by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf.

Addressing the ceremony, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, a graduate of the Pakistan Naval Academy himself, expressed his pride in witnessing the parade at his alma mater. He praised the Pakistan Navy’s professionalism and highlighted its role as a prominent maritime force in the region. The naval chief also underscored the academy’s long-standing commitment to providing high-standard training to cadets from friendly nations. The parade included international cadets from Bahrain, Iraq, Djibouti, Sri Lanka and Türkiye.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf reaffirmed the strong bilateral ties, shared values and continued cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain.

During the prize distribution, the Chief Guest presented awards to outstanding performers. Midshipman Muhammad Uzair Abbas received the prestigious Sword of Honour for overall excellence, while Midshipman Shahab Ahmed was awarded the Academy Dirk. Officer Cadet Umar Mukhtar of Pakistan and Officer Cadet Aldhahabi Fahad Husam Fareed of Iraq earned the Chief of the Naval Staff Gold Medals. The Commandant Gold Medal was secured by Officer Cadet Syed Saad Shahid from the Short Service Commission Course. The Proficiency Banner was awarded to the Quarterdeck Squadron.

The ceremony was attended by senior military officials, distinguished guests and the families of graduating cadets.
