Pakistan’s security forces destroyed two explosives-laden vehicles and killed four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district on July 30, 2026.
According to security officials, the operation was launched following intelligence regarding the presence and movement of militants identified as belonging to Fitna al Hindustan, a term used by Pakistani authorities for certain India-backed militant elements operating in the country.
During the operation, security personnel detected two vehicles that had allegedly been loaded with explosives and configured as Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIEDs). The vehicles, accompanied by militants, were intercepted before they could reach their intended targets.
Security forces responded swiftly and destroyed both VBIEDs during the engagement. Four militants operating with the vehicles were also killed in the operation. The interception of the explosive-laden vehicles potentially prevented attacks that could have caused significant casualties and damage.
Following the operation, security forces launched sanitization and clearance activities in the surrounding area to determine whether any additional militants or facilitators were present.
The operation comes amid Pakistan’s continuing counterterrorism campaign under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework. The initiative was approved by the Federal Apex Committee overseeing the National Action Plan and is intended to coordinate counterterrorism efforts involving security forces, law-enforcement agencies and other state institutions.
Authorities have reiterated that counterterrorism operations will continue against militant networks and their facilitators, particularly in areas where intelligence indicates an active security threat.
