PNS Khaibar Completes Joint Drills and Patrols During Visit to Turkey

The military’s media wing announced on Friday that the newly inducted Pakistan Navy ship PNS Khaibar made a port call at a Turkish naval base and carried out joint exercises and patrols with the Turkey Navy.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the state-of-the-art PNS Khaibar, while on its maiden voyage from Turkey to Pakistan, visited the Aksaz Naval Base. During the stopover, the vessel took part in Exercise Turgutreis-XIII as well as coordinated patrols with Turkish naval ships.

During its stay, the commanding officer of PNS Khaibar met with the Turkish Southern Sea Area Commander. Discussions centered on strengthening bilateral naval cooperation and promoting regional security through shared initiatives. Later, senior officers from the Southern Sea Area Command and Aksaz Naval Base toured the Pakistani vessel.

Following the port engagement, PNS Khaibar joined Turkish naval forces for Exercise Turgutreis-XIII, which included participation from the Turkish ship TCG Heybeliada and an SH-70 helicopter. The drill featured multiple sea maneuvers designed to refine joint maritime operations and bolster interoperability between the two navies.

Upon completing the exercise, PNS Khaibar and TCG Heybeliada conducted a coordinated patrol in the Eastern Mediterranean.

ISPR stated that the successful execution of Exercise Turgutreis-XIII and the subsequent joint patrol reflects the deep-rooted strategic partnership and longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey.
