Pakistan Army Takes Control of Five Afghan Border Posts Amid Rising Tensions

The Pakistan Army has reportedly taken control of five more border posts inside Afghanistan’s Paktia Province, raising the Pakistani flag amid escalating tensions along the frontier.

Security sources said the action followed what they described as unprovoked hostilities by the Afghan Taliban. The seized positions are situated opposite South Waziristan, including two posts near Shawal, two close to Angoor Adda, and one in the Zarmalan area.

Sources further claimed that Pakistani forces destroyed the Afghan terminal at Angoor Adda during the operation. Officials alleged that Taliban fighters sustained significant casualties, describing the response by Pakistan’s security forces as firm and decisive.

The situation along the border remains tense, with developments being closely monitored by authorities on both sides.
