Pakistan’s Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Asim Munir, marked the 99th anniversary of China’s People’s Liberation Army at an event held at General Headquarters, using the occasion to underline the durability of military ties between Islamabad and Beijing. The CDF described the relationship as a long-standing partnership that has continued to hold steady despite shifting regional and global security dynamics.

The ceremony brought together senior Pakistani and Chinese defence officials and served as a platform to highlight decades of cooperation between the two militaries, spanning joint training, equipment collaboration, and strategic coordination. Pakistani officials framed the occasion as evidence that the two countries continue to view each other as dependable partners on security matters.

The renewed show of solidarity comes as Pakistan simultaneously works to strengthen defence relationships with other partners, including Saudi Arabia and Belarus, as Islamabad looks to diversify its strategic and military partnerships amid a shifting regional security environment.
